KIFAYA Reloaded
#KIFAYA (Arabic for Enough!) is a collaborative #music4peace project magnifying the voices of South Sudanese diaspora musicians. Initiated by Talent211, #defyhatenow and #ASKnet hub Platform Africa, #KIFAYA seeks to counter a critical mass of angry, frustrated people to promote peace through the universal language of art and music. Bringing together known West Nile sound artists with refugee kids and youth, new energies, sounds and creative skills flourish. The most recent #KIFAYA collaboration, “Where did we go wrong?” now has well over 1000 views.

In 2025 a diverse group of artists and musicians from refugee and host communities came together in Arua for a two-day workshop under Kifaya 2.0. The workshop combined training on misinformation, fact-checking, hate speech, conflict sensitivity, and conflict mapping with discussions on reconciliation, healing, mental health, environmental protection, and youth advocacy.
The sessions encouraged artists to share experiences, built trust across communities, and explored how music can address social challenges. Through collaborative jam sessions, participants co-created songs including “Kifaya” and “Where Did We Go Wrong,” which were professionally recorded in Arua, with a visualizer also produced for the latter.

Four artists later performed the collaborative works at the ASKnet MicroFest in Gulu for the first time in public, receiving positive feedback. The project was extensively documented through video reels, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content, which were shared online to increase the visibility and reach of Kifaya 2.0.
