Location: Kiryandongo, Uganda

Kiryandongo Video Advocate (KVA) is a refugee-host youth-led Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kiryandongo, Uganda, dedicated to fostering sustainable community development. Established in 2017 and registered in April 2021, KVA champions community justice and advocacy through video storytelling as a tool for social change.

KVA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families through programs in five key areas:

  1. Community Advocacy and Justice: amplifying unheard voices, promoting accountability, peaceful coexistence, and rights awareness through participatory media and dialogue.
  2. Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture: protecting the environment and enhancing food security through training in climate-smart farming, waste management, and tree planting.
  3. Economic Empowerment: building self-reliance through vocational skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and livelihood support for youth and vulnerable households.
  4. Education: expanding access to quality learning through ICT and digital literacy training, scholastic support, and scholarship linkages.
  5. Health Initiatives: promoting community well-being with awareness programs on nutrition, preventive health, mental health, sexual and reproductive health.
